Navigo Yolcu Privacy Policy

Version: 1 November 2026

This policy covers the Navigo Yolcu mobile app and this website. Details of which data is processed, on what legal basis and for how long are in the Privacy Notice (KVKK). The data controller is Mest Yazılım ve Bilişim Teknolojileri (Navigo). The Turkish version prevails.

1. In short

  • We show no ads and never sell, rent or use your data for marketing.
  • The app contains no ad networks and no third-party analytics or tracking tools.
  • We use your location only while the app is open and only with your permission; no background location.
  • Drivers never see your phone number or full name.
  • You can delete your account from the app at any time (Deleting my account).

2. What we collect

  • Account: mobile number, first and last name; optional email and username; a one-way hash of your password.
  • Location: if you allow it, device location while the app is open.
  • Trips: destinations you search, chosen route and stop, “I’m waiting” records and notes to the driver.
  • Messages: text, photos and screenshots you send through “Contact us”.
  • Technical: push token, device model, OS and app version, IP address, error and crash logs (recent screens and route name).

3. Permissions the app asks for

  • Location (while in use): to show nearby stops, find a route to your destination and add your location to an “I’m waiting” record. Without it you can still choose a city and stop.
  • Notifications: to tell you when the vehicle approaches, about route announcements and replies to your messages.
  • Camera and photos: only when you add an attachment in “Contact us”.
  • Face ID / fingerprint: only for quick sign-in, via your phone’s own lock. Biometric data never reaches us.

You can turn permissions off at any time in your phone’s settings.

4. Who sees what

  • Operator and its drivers: only when you tap “I’m waiting” and while the wait lasts; your initials, stop, location, destination summary and note.
  • Navigo support team: only Navigo’s central team sees and answers “Contact us” messages; operators cannot.
  • Service providers: SMS delivery (Türkiye); Expo, Google Firebase and Apple for notifications; Google Maps on Android, Apple Maps on iOS and optional Google Maps; walking directions send the destination coordinates to the map app you choose; Expo for updates.
  • Navigo’s own monitoring log (Türkiye): on an AI search, location, destination, place name and internal account number. Name, phone and email are not written. The log does not leave Türkiye.
  • Only with explicit consent: the location Navigo received from you is sent to OpenAI or Google only as data, without any notice that it belongs to you (separate consents). See the Explicit Consent Notice.
  • Authorities: where legally required.

5. Security

  • All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Passwords are hashed one-way with bcrypt; plain text is never stored.
  • The session key is kept in the phone’s secure storage (Keychain / Keystore).
  • SMS code, sign-in and account deletion attempts are rate-limited.
  • Servers are in Türkiye; administrative access is limited to authorised staff.

6. Retention

SMS codes are kept for 24 hours, “I’m waiting” records and notes for 30 days, the AI search counter for 30 days, the AI monitoring log for 30 days, server and website access logs for 30 days, and messages for 2 years. Expired records are deleted automatically every night. Accounts not opened for 2 years are deleted automatically. The legal basis for notification, map and update transfers abroad is in section 6 of the Privacy Notice.

7. Deleting my account

You can delete your account at any time, without giving a reason and free of charge.

  1. In the app, tap Hesabımı sil (Delete my account) in the menu or under Profile.
  2. Read what will be deleted and tick the “I understand” box.
  3. Tap Hesabımı kalıcı olarak sil (Delete permanently) and confirm. Deletion is immediate.

Your account, profile, “I’m waiting” records, notes to drivers, messages and attachments, push token, AI search counter and AI and Google search consent choices are permanently deleted from our servers; your AI monitoring log is removed when the account is deleted, any remainder is deleted within 30 days at the latest; your recent searches and favourites are permanently deleted from your phone. Server logs are deleted on their own within 30 days. Deletion cannot be undone; uninstalling the app does not delete the account.

If you cannot access the app: email info@navigo.com.tr with the subject “Account deletion” and your registered phone number; the request is completed within 30 days. Details: Privacy Notice, section 8.

8. This website

yolcu.navigo.com.tr uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts; fonts are served from our own server. Introduction videos do not connect to YouTube until you press play. When you press play, your IP address goes to YouTube; the video loads from YouTube’s cookieless player (youtube-nocookie.com) and YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. Website access logs (IP address, time, page requested) are kept for 30 days for security.

9. Children

The app is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

When the policy changes, the version date is updated; for material changes the app shows the new text again at start-up.

11. User content

There is no public profile, post or community. A “Contact us” message and photo go only to Navigo support. A note to the driver goes only to that driver and the operator, and only while you are waiting.

If you see content of a work that is yours, email info@navigo.com.tr with the subject “Copyright notice”. For unlawful content, use the subject “Unlawful content”. Navigo deletes that message and its files from the server. A driver note is deleted with the waiting record within 30 days.
